This is my first review and my first jump into the arena of HDTV. I waited for some time to buy an "almost perfect" TV on the cheap. If my eye on the 55XBR8, which probably has a superior image quality thanks to LED backlighting. In the race was the Super Slim Samsung B8000. I have turned off the Samsung because of its limited connectivity, and a review written by the owner of one who said that the board of backlighting caused a halo effect around the TV in a dark room. I decided to go with the 52XBR9 because of its moderate depth, hidden speakers, built-in Internet video and widgets, and the price much more resonable than the 55XBR8.
I had this baby for 3 weeks and am still learning to make the most of it. Out of the box, I was blown away by how the image is large. The HD channels are truly alive. The SD channels are just OK. Find great DVD, with a little help in most of my Oppo DVD player. Not buy
